What is ADHD?

In addition to being a neurodegenerative disorder, ADHD is also a genetic disorder. To define it correctly and precisely, ADHD stands for Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder. Herein, the victim feels a bit more uncomfortable than the people around.

The overall effect is the person with ADHD may feel restless and agitated, and in the wake, he may start committing absurdities. The people with this disorder usually talk a lot and talk pointless.

How an Instagram comet Led to the ADHD Diagnosis

A person on Instagram has recently reported that her ADHD has been diagnosed by a comment she received on her Instagram. That was me. That may sound a bit unrealistic but after knowing the details, you yourself are going to believe it.

The person with ADHD, as mentioned earlier, has the habit of talking a lot and often the conversation lacks meaning. There may even be a pointless thing, irrelevant to the topic. The case with me was no different.

I posted an Instagram picture with a long caption, of my cat, wherein I started talking about her, and then as I am accustomed to, I lost the track and started talking about the things that have nothing to do with cats, like a trip to Prague, or how nature affects life, etc. I, without realizing that it may sound absurd, even posted it.

As Instagram is all about likes, shares, posts, and comments, so I received one too. A person, a random guy may be, commented on the post.

The comment was quite sarcastic as to write to make me feel that the lines are irrelevant, and things there were not worth mentioning. Written there was “Get yourself checked for ADHD, you might be the victim”. Though it directly intended to affect me in a negative way, it has something different.

I searched google and checked what ADHD is as I earlier did not know anything about it. From a verified and well-researched article, I came to realize that the symptoms mentioned are similar to my daily habit.

I got suspicious and went to see the doctor. After a few trials and sessions, I came up diagnosed with ADHD, a personality disorder.

I have been a bit more anxious about things, get annoyed soon, in agitation, I speak a lot and speak irrelevantly, but I could never ever, in so many years of my life, have thought that I may need to be explained keenly by a doctor.

I have grown up, but could never think that my habits are depicting something suspicious, just one Instagram comment, and everything changed forever.
