Overview:

The Buran Ghati Trek can be assumed to be a moderate to difficult trekking spot. Buran is considered to be an ancient enchanting village that is enriched with some old cottages and fruit-bearing trees. The route is enclosed by a dense wilderness of Oak and Pine trees, making the path more wondrous to travel. Get a glimpse of the stunning views of the Dayara grasslands. The main highlights of this spot are Chander Nahan Lake huddled near Chanshal Peak and the Dhauladhar range that glides up an astounding 12,000 ft from the valley base.

How to reach:

By Flight: Chandigarh International Airport is one of the main airports in North India. All main flights are linked from various states of India and International too.

By Train: The Chandigarh Railway Station is approximately 8 kilometers from the central city. The railway station has regular trains linking it with various Indian cities. Jan Shatabdi, Shatabdi, and many more connect it with New Delhi. Paschim Express, Chennai Express, Sadbhavna express, and Kerala Sampark Kranti are other important trains that connect Chandigarh with other cities.

By Road: It takes nearly 4 hours to reach Shimla from Chandigarh. The buses from Chandigarh to Shimla are run by RSRTC and are continually available daily. Shimla to Janglik drive is an 8 to 9 hours drive from Shimla, and Janglik is the base camp for your trek.

Itinerary:

Day 1: Shimla | Janglikh:

On arrival at Shimla, your travel guide will assist you at the bus stand and you’ll be transferred to Janglikh. Drive through the wonderful valley, en-route Kharapathar or via Narkanda and Rohru. The journey to Janglikh will take around 8 to 9 hours. Relax at the campsite overnight at Janglikh village. The day ends with a bonfire and dinner.

Day 2: Janglikh | Dayara Thach:

After having your breakfast, trek towards Dayara Thach. The trek winds through the dense wildernesses, magnificent meadows, and grassy land climb. It’s a moderate trek and takes nearly 4 to 5 hours to reach Dayara Thach. Have your dinner and stay overnight at the elegant meadow of Dayara Thach.

Day 3: Dayara Thach | Lytham Thach:

Begin your day exploring the Dayara grasslands. Witness thick forest carpet, fast streaming rivers, meadows, and an altitude of 737 ft within 3 hours. Through the Gunas Pass, snow-clad Dhauladhar range, Silver Birch will lead you to the first precise view of Litham. Then cross the Chandranahan stream to reach Litham campsite. Relax at the campsite to enjoy the rest of the evening in the laps of nature. Chandranath waterfalls on your left followed by Chandernahan Lake and the snow-clad peaks.

Day 4: Chandranahan Lake:

Chandranahan Lake comprises a glacier and annual snow flanks from its surrounding mountains. You can take the shepherd’s route to reach the top of the waterfall. Chandranahan Lake takes another 1 hour to reach the waterfalls. Enjoy the snow and delightful stone cairns before descending to Litham.

Day 5: Lytham | Nalabansh:

You’ll pass through the Rupin Valley mountains on the right. While descending the valley, you will get the initial view of Buran Ghati and Gunas waterfall. After an hour’s climb will steer you to Nalabansh. Relax at the campsite, have your dinner and overnight stay.

Day 6: Nalabansh | Munirang Via Buran Ghati:

Having your breakfast to get yourself ready for a thrilling climb mainly on the snow at 15,000 ft, will be one of the most adventurous things you would have ever done. Two hours’ descent in the snowline. Through the dripping stream on the other side is the path to your campsite. Have your dinner and stay overnight at adorable Munirang.

Day 7: Munirang | Bruua Village:

More downfall will direct you to gushing streams and apple orchids making your trek to Bruua Khud all the more mesmerizing. Follow the route to Karcham or take a ride. Reach Sangla or Reckong Peo for a better road link to Shimla.
